Inspection and Testing (New installations & Periodic testing):
'Inspection and testing' refers to several equipment-specific procedures and tests that are carried out to make sure that electrical systems around your building are compliant with BS7671, comply with statutory regulations such as the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and most importantly remain safe.
Failure to comply with these regulations is a criminal offense that could result in a fine or even imprisonment.
- New Installation
To comply with BS7671, Regulation 610.1, our electricians will complete testing procedures and issue an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC).
- Periodic Inspection and Testing
BS7671 621.1 relates to those electrical installations that are neither new nor altered. In these cases, there is a need for periodic electrical inspection and testing to be carried out.
Our services include an initial visual inspection, thorough inspection, and testing procedure. Once this is complete an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) will be issued.
These are certificates that must be kept by the “person ordering the work” (the owner) and the “competent person” (the qualified electrician) after the electrical inspection, and testing procedures have been completed.
